I encourage all comic fans to take this opportunity to try something new, and for all creators and aspiring creators to answer the call and come up with something great. Indy Comic Book Week is not only an event, but also a call to action.

DiamondComic Distributors announced they will not ship any new comics for thelast week of December. This company is the primary distributor of comicbooks in North America. What some would call a sad week without ourfavorite mainstream titles, we are calling an opportunity. This vacancyallows independent and small press comic book creators to claim thisweek as their own.

We challenge writers andartists to self publish new material for this week, and offer it totheir local stores.
